Colin Timothy Hodson died on November 12, 2025 in his home in the woods of Quadra Island. He is predeceased by his father Timothy Fredrick Hodson and his mother Shirley Doris Hodson. He is survived by his sisters Sheila, Nina, and Brenda (and her partner Michael); his nephew Tim (and his wife Skye); his nieces Starr (and her husband Greg), Melissa (and her husband Derek), and Fawn (and her partner Scott); his great-nephews Kyle (and his wife Samantha), and Cody; and his great-nieces Jade, Claire, Mya, and Halle.
Colin was born in Victoria on October 1, 1949 and spent most of his life in northern Vancouver Island. He was a tree planter, mechanic, carpenter, electrician, wood carver, adventurer, and friend to all animals.
He lived in cabins with cats on the table, bees in the wall, and deer wandering through the kitchen. He knew where the halibut came up from the deep to bask in the shallows and where the lakes were so clear, you could see the fish swimming along the bottom.
We miss him dearly.
There is pleasure in the pathless wood
There is solace in the lonely shore
There is solitude where non intrude
I love not man less, but nature more
- Lord Byron
