Christine (Chris) Clarice (Anderson) Wootton

It is with sadness that our family announces the passing of Christine ... she was a wonderful mother and wife being the “North Star” that shown so brightly and guided our family in our journey of life.

Chris is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years George, daughter Cathy (son in law Rob), son Ian, sisters Laara and Cindy, brother Harreson and many dear nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents Bert and Elda Anderson and sister Morganne.

Chris was an accomplished artist having graduated from “The Kootenay School of Fine Art” in Nelson BC and after having moved to Vancouver Island in 1975 taught art at North Island College Campbell River. In 1996 Chris embarked on a new journey building her own version of an artist studio ... high ceilings, glass doors, large skylights, natural light throughout. From this studio Chris now taught classes in watercolour, oil, and acrylic painting, sculptor and other artistic endeavours. Chris was an amazing woman endlessly creative. With her beautiful smile and positivity ... she was an inspiration to all. Chris's students adored her.

A thank you to all the people who sent cards with such insightful wisdoms on the community that was formed by this lady. Chris made many friends that bonded over their passion for art but also shared their life adventures both the ups and downs ... she cherished you all.

A special thanks to the staff at the Campbell River hospital who all showed kindness and compassion during Chris's care.
