Carol Bedell Obituary

Carol Doreen Bedell (Bohnert) of Courtenay reunited in peace with her husband, Ken, on September 10, 2022. Carol was predeceased by Ken in 2017 after more than 50 years of marriage.

Carol was born January 19, 1945, in Drumheller, Alberta, and was one of six children of Karl and Wilma Bohnert.

Early into Carol and Ken’s marriage they made their way west to Youbou, BC, where they raised four children: Ken Jr. (Karin), Raida, Kevin, and Cecil. After retirement, Carol and Ken travelled and settled down briefly in various beautiful spots throughout BC. Terrace, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Fanny Bay, before ultimately calling the Comox Valley home.

Carol was “Gram” and “Nanna” to eight grandchildren that she adored and loved spending time with. Curtis, Nicholas, Hannah, Leanna, Douglas, Crystal, Griffin, and Sage. Carol also had a very special place in her heart for “Jewels” (Dale) and was always excited to make the trip to Victoria to visit with her and share a walk and a glass of wine.

Carol’s other great love throughout the years were her Corgi dogs, of which she had three. Whenever asked what kind of dog she had Carol always was quick to answer “Corgi… the queen's dog”

Carol’s family would like to send a heartfelt “thank you” to all the staff at Arrowsmith Lodge in Parksville and Glacier View Lodge in Courtenay, for their kind, compassionate, and professional care of their Mom, Gram, and Nanna.
