Briony Caroline Noden, of Campbell River, BC, slipped away peacefully on March 8, 2026, leaving behind a world touched by her warmth, her kindness, and her indomitable spirit. Briony, born on January 31, 1943, in Belfast, UK, was the cherished daughter of Kathleen and Ronald Egner. Her roots in Belfast, a city known for its strength and resilience, echoed throughout her life, shaping her into a woman of grit, grace, and unwavering courage.
Briony's professional journey was as much a testament to her dedication as it was to her exceptional warmth. As an executive secretary, her meticulous attention to detail, professionalism, and heartfelt interaction with colleagues earned her their deep respect and affection. After retiring in 2020, Briony refused to let the joy she found in connecting with others fade. She took a position as a Walmart Greeter, where her radiant smile and infectious enthusiasm became the highlight of many people's shopping experiences. In the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Briony Noden lives on in the hearts of those she touched, both as a professional and a genuine friend.
Beyond her professional life, Briony was a woman of varied passions. Her love for dogs was surpassed only by her love for her family and her deep-seated desire to explore the world. Briony found joy in every journey, every new face, and every simple moment of everyday life. Her son, Robson Grant, and daughter-in-law, Debbie, were the great joys of her life, and her love for them was as unwavering as her love for adventure. Briony was predeceased by her parents, Kathleen and Ronald Egner. As Henry David Thoreau once said, "Live your beliefs and you can turn the world around." Briony lived her beliefs, leaving an indelible mark on the world and those she loved.
