Betty Reba (Bridges) Strachan

After a rich life of over 91 years, Betty passed away peacefully at the Comox Valley Hospital.  She is loved and missed by her son Jay, daughters Shannon Forbes, and Kelly (Yogi), granddaughters Alexis (Jordan), and Andrea (Devon), great-grandchildren Daxton and Emilia, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

Betty grew up a part of a pioneer family and carried that strength throughout her life.  Family and friends knew whenever they showed up at the house, Betty could be found outside tending her gardens, or in the kitchen baking the latest recipe she’d found in a magazine.  She was wonderful at both and we will all miss the many treats we were encouraged to sample whenever we visited.  She will also be remembered for her love, quick wit and sense of humour, as she battled any challenges she faced later in life with a smile. 

We are comforted to know that she can now reunite with her husband Alexander (Sandy).  At her request, there will be no services; in lieu of flowers, please bake your favourite cookie recipe to share with your family and friends.
