Alison Joan Windecker, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, Grammy, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024, at the age of 70, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 15, 1953, to Hazel Windecker (nee Cox) and Norman Windecker, Alison grew up on Gabriola Island where her life was one of movement and passion. From her early days as a dancer to her later roles as a dance teacher and school educator, she touched countless lives with her dedication and creativity.
Alison's zest for life extended beyond her professional accomplishments as she enjoyed cooking, gardening and being in nature. Alison's true joy came from her family.
Alison is survived by her mother, Hazel Windecker, her loving husband, Ron Ffitch, her brothers, Dan Windecker (Kim) and Barry Windecker (Ruth), her children, Nolan Helander (Matthew) and Aubrey Brabbins (David) and her five grandchildren.
