Adina Karlsson Obituary

Louise loved the Lord and passed away peacefully into His presence surrounded by Family and friends.

Louise was a strong, brave, bold, and determined Lady. She was full of faith which she shared unashamedly, influencing many to fall deeper in love with Jesus. She had an adventurous spirit, from going to Israel to going on an adventure with her grandson to Europe.

Louise was a true worshipper of Jesus and shared her extensive gift of music with churches over the years. She enjoyed teaching lady’s bible study. She was a prayer warrior: praying continually about all things. Her life verse was Romans 8:28 “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." She made many friends along the way, which she considered as family.

Her career as a teacher brought her experiences including one room schools such as at Esperanza and many other schools in district 84. She taught in Canmore and Calgary Alberta. She valued education, even obtaining a Master of Music from the University of Calgary.  During her teaching she found out about Residential Schools and was heartbroken for how the children were treated. She saw all peoples as human beings, she accepted all, and she treated everyone with dignity, respect, care, and prayer, and Louise truly treasured all the friendships she made with First Nations peoples. We have learned from her example on how to treat others.

Some of her many hobbies she enjoyed; puzzles, gardening, and reading.  She loved animals so much that she desired as a child to be a vet.

Louise loved her children raising them as a single mom taking them on the adventure with her.

Louise is survived by her Daughter, Susanne (Henry) Fossen and her Son, John (Richelle) Karlsson. She was also blessed with her Grandsons Isaiah Fossen, Lucas Karlsson, Levi Karlsson. You are her legacy. Louise is survived by her Brother Dennis (Penny) Simons and Nephew Matthew (Susie) Simons, Niece Elisabeth (Ken) Murray and great nieces and nephews. And many cousins.

We would like to thank all the Doctors and nurses, over the years as she battled cancer. We want to make special mention of the Gold River Clinic Doctors, nurses, and ambulance crew. You are a true blessing to our community, and we are so thankful for all you have done, for Louise.

We would like to thank Westgate Foursquare Church Family for your love, support, and prayers. Thank you to Pastors Romeo and Darla you are amazing leaders and given so much.

Thank you to Noelle for all the love, care, and songs you shared with mom during her last moments. You are a blessing and a true worshipper of Jesus.
