On November 29th, 2019, Joe left this world to join the love of his life, Jacqueline. Predeceased by his parents Francis and Esther Rogers, wife Jackie, brothers Ivan and George, and nieces Judy, Tara and Susan. He is survived by his Sisters Rita and Mariena. Joe is also survived by daughters Cheryl (Al ), Tracy (Murray) and Dawn-Marie, and grandchildren Taylor (Maddie), Colby (Katy) , Brad (Bridget) and Candace (Brittney), James and Chase and by two great-grandchildren, Landon and Logan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe was born in Dauphin Manitoba. He grew up on the family farm, working on the railroad after he left high school. Eventually, he made his way to Campbell River to join his older brother George and wife Joan, where he went to work at Elk Falls Mill. He worked there for 39 years, retiring as a machine tender on #3 pulp machine. Joe was an avid fisher and hunter. He fed his family partly with salmon and venison he harvested himself. Joe was a quiet man, he was mechanically inclined and could fix just about anything. He loved his dogs and cats and a good party, especially when he and Jackie would cut a rug! He will be dearly missed by his family.
Special thanks to the ladies of Yucalta Lodge who cared for him so well and also to Dr. Coetzee and Andrea.
