David (Dave) Eldred Obituary

Dave Eldred passed on Sunday August 25 just shy of his 84th birthday and on the heels of a great adventure in Haida Gwaii.

He was predeceased by his wife Gerry and grandson Ryan and will be deeply missed by Liz (Ian) Mackay, Rob (Diane) Eldred, and grandchildren Alexa, Rachel, Kris and Sarah.

Dave was an educator and an artist. Following normal school he progressed quickly through the ranks as teacher, principal, and Superintendent of Schools in Districts 12 13 and finally 72 in Campbell River.

Once retired, Dad spent many years on Hornby Island volunteering on the Co-op Board of Directors as well as with the Campbell River and District Association for Community Living.

He enjoyed carving, sketching and painting, and going to the gym.

He finally got to travel the world in his later years.

A celebration of life will follow in Campbell River in a few months.
