The family of David East of Comox wish to announce his passing due to heart complications on December 15, 2018 at the Comox Valley Hospital. He is survived by his wife Wendy of 53 years and his three children; Jacqueline East (Jim) Michael East (Linn) Kevin East (Angeline) and six grandchildren; Jade, James, Tayler, Carson, Sydney and Parker. David is also survived by brothers; Douglas and Dale as well as his beloved dog, Ginger.
David grew up on a ranch near Eastend, Sask. He joined the RCMP shortly after completing high school and began his service in rural Manitoba. It was there that he met Wendy and they married and raised their family in Glenboro. David was very active in the community and always ready to lend a hand. He served on town council and was committed to Scouts Canada for many years. David and Wendy came to Ucluelet on Vancouver Island about 15 years ago and instantly fell in love with the west coast and finally moved to Comox where he lived and enjoyed his final years close to his family.
The Family will recognize David with a private celebration of life at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to the Wild Pacific Trail Society in Ucluelet, info@wildpacifictrail.com
