January 2, 1940 – February 17, 2024

It is with great sadness the Dunnett family advises that Rod passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning of February 17, 2024. His wife of 64 years, Sharron, son Rocky, daughter Diana and his brother, Earl Graham will all miss him deeply. He will be remembered fondly by other family members - Rex and Lois, Roy and Ann, Fred and Lynn Stevenson, as well as his numerous nieces and nephews.

We gratefully acknowledge all the dedicated doctors, nurses and support staff at NRGH, from ER through the main hospital setting, Nanaimo Cancer Clinic, and his brief stay at Palliative Care. We know you did everything humanly possible to have Rod come home to us once again. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be, but we know he is now at peace.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers given during their time of mourning. Sharron is especially honored to have been able to share personal experiences of Rod’s life, and accomplishments, with the many friends who have shown their amazing offers of support. As Rod had requested there be ‘no service’, donations to the BC Cancer Society, or the Memorial Society of BC, in lei of flowers would be greatly appreciated.
